Basie and Newton aims to get to the conceptual heart of good dancing, with the help of some tools from physics and psychology. The main text is aimed at a general audience and the author hopes that it will be useful to dancers and teachers of all backgrounds. Technical supplements are provided for readers seeking more rigour. Feedback is very welcome.
Who wrote this stuff?
(Stockholm, Sweden; formerly Amsterdam, Netherlands and Brisbane, Australia)
has been dancing regularly since 2001. He has danced in many places around the world, taught here and there, and received occasional approving nods from contest judges. Drew holds a bachelors degree in cognitive psychology, a PhD in biophysics (both from the University of Queensland) and still dances in white shoes even though they stopped being cool years ago.
